Motor Vehicle Registration

Important Announcement Regarding Motor Vehicle Registration Updates

The State of New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be upgrading their motor vehicle software starting on Friday October 6th and ending on Tuesday October 10th.  It is expected that vehicle registrations starting on Wednesday October 11th, 2017 will be using the new DMV software. There is a chance the State will need one additional day for the software upgrade and that would take place on Wednesday October 11th, 2017. During this time the City will only be able to process the City portion of the registration and not complete the State portion of the registration. No license plates, decals or complete registrations can be issued while the upgrade is in process.  We apologize for this inconvenience.  If you have time constraints you may want to consider registering earlier than normal.  As a reminder we will be open until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday September 28th, and Thursday October 5th.

Please plan accordingly as the system outage will delay processing motor vehicle registration.  The system will be down 2 or 3 working days throughout the state.

If you have additional questions; you may contact the Registration Office at 589-3200

If your registration is lost, a certified copy of your registration can be provided at City Hall for an $18 fee.

Snow Emergencies

During the hours of the snow emergency, the City of Nashua will be towing vehicles remaining on the street and in the municipal surface lots. Owners of towed vehicles may retrieve their cars at the Solid Waste Department (Landfill) and must pay a fine of $315 (cash, money order or credit card only). Please note that cars may be picked up at the landfill scale house at all times during the snow emergency. After the snow emergency has been lifted, cars may be picked up during normal business hours.
