Faculty Immersion Program

The Division networks with high schools, colleges and universities on various projects and initiatives and we are sometimes asked if faculty can become more involved in a project or shadow public health professionals so they can better understand the inner workings of a local Public Health Department. These experiences enhance the course content taught in public health programs and courses. Teachers of public health-type courses in New Hampshire that have never worked in a local or state health department, will benefit the most from this experience. This opportunity can entail a short (2 to 5 days from 8 a.m to 5 p.m.) experience or can be expanded to include study for a sabbatical. During this experience, you will be able to attend meetings with staff, become involved with projects and network. This experience can be tailored to the needs of the faculty member.

See an example of a faculty member from Colby-Sawyer that worked with us during his sabbatical.
